Several weeks ago, former WWE champion and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho returned to WWE Raw in a way that many didn’t expect. Carl Jonsson looks at the way in which Y2J’s comeback has been handled, and what it means for Wrestlemania… First things first – I want to go on record as saying that I am a huge Jericho fan. He is one heck of a performer, and WWE programming hasn’t been the same without him. So when he made his big return to Raw in January, refusing to utter a single word, I didn’t quite know what to make of it. I know that some thought the silent promos week after week were an intriguing way to keep viewers tuning in, but for me it missed the mark on a certain level. Yes, the brash cocky attitude was still there (albeit hidden in plain sight), but by not speaking, Jericho alienated a lot of the longtime audience who were waiting for an epic promo from the Ayatolla of Rock-n-Rolla, myself included.
