In the first of a series of (you guessed it) 20 articles, our newest writer James Musselwhite begins a match-by-match journey, unpacking the highs (and lows) of The Undertaker’s phenomenal undefeated streak: The Undertaker vs Superfly Jimmy Snuka WWF WrestleMania VII: Los Angeles, California – March 24th 1991 “He’s got it all…” says legendary commentator and performer Gorilla Monsoon, “… size, ability, speed, strength. What a package!” A short four months after debuting in the WWF, The Undertaker found himself in the ring at WrestleMania. Standing across the ring from him was an 80s legend, a future Hall of Famer, and a lamb to the slaughter in the form ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka. The Superfly’s job on this day was to make the Dead Man look like the ‘Phenom’ in under five minutes. It was a job he pulled off to near perfection. Starting the match with a heelish sneak attack while his rival had his back turned, The Undertaker slowly dissected The Superfly with kicks and punches, before knocking him to the ground with his now trademark flying clothesline, a move beautifully sold as much by the announce team as it was by his opponent.
